Summer is the liveliest season in Sighisoara: the days are long, the terraces in the citadel are full, and at the end of July the town hosts the Medieval Festival. It's the ideal time for late walks along the walls and getaways into the surrounding nature, but also the busiest — so book early.

The citadel in summertime
The long days give you time to see everything without hurry: the Clock Tower in the morning, the terraces in Citadel Square at midday and a walk along the walls at sunset, when it cools down.
Summer is also the best time for a day in nature at the Breite Plateau, among the ancient oaks.
The Medieval Festival
At the end of July, the town returns to the Middle Ages: knights, craftspeople, music and shows fill the citadel at the Medieval Festival. It's the most spectacular weekend of the summer, but also the most sought after for accommodation.
If you want to catch the festival, book many months ahead — the rooms fill up quickly.
Cool and quiet at Casa Roșca
After a hot day, the garden and terrace of Casa Roșca are a cool refuge, with the shade of the trees. Our guesthouse is a short walk from the centre, yet sheltered from the summer bustle.
