Sighisoara's upper citadel has narrow, cobbled lanes with limited access for cars, so the easiest thing is to park in the lower town and walk up. The historic centre is best discovered on foot anyway, and the climb is short and pleasant.

Why you park below and walk up
In the upper citadel, traffic is restricted and spaces are few. That's why most visitors leave the car in the lower town and walk up — either along the streets or up the stairs — towards Citadel Square.
It's more pleasant, too: the citadel is seen at leisure, not from the car. Comfortable shoes make all the difference on the cobbles.
Tips for the busy season
In summer and at weekends, especially at the Medieval Festival, spaces fill up fast. Arrive earlier in the morning or choose to walk from your accommodation, to avoid hunting for a space.
If you're staying in town, the simplest thing is to leave the car at your accommodation for the whole day.
At Casa Roșca you leave the parking worry behind
Our guesthouse is a short walk from the citadel, so you can leave the car and explore the centre on foot, without thinking about parking any more. You return whenever you like, to the quiet of the garden.
